She survived eighteen experiments spanning the first half of Season 7, tying the unnamed microwave and Sandra for the fourth longest tenure. She also holds the record of most consecutive bad ideas with 12 bad ideas in a row, one more than Helga.

Retirement[]
Penny was the first microwave to be retired in the middle of a season. By the conclusion of her 18th experiment, she was so filthy and black inside that the guys could barely see inside her. For the sake of the show's entertainment, she was given her AARP card. She was the first microwave to have a true retirement montage, complete with upbeat marching band music. Lacey's retirement montage used the funeral montage music.
